Ownership history summary
I am the 6th owner since 1982. Owner(s) before 1982 are not known. Bike
was in Alabama until 1998, with a couple of the owners prominent in vintage
BMW circles there. The owner previous to me received the bike in rough
condition and had a dealer go through it. I bought it with 9,000 miles
showing, but another previous owner said it had 16,000 when he bought
it in 1985. I think the speedo was replaced around 1995. From piston-cylinder
clearance when rebuilt, and the slingers being almost filled, it is estimated
that the engine had run about 30,000 miles when I had it rebuilt with
10,000 miles showing.
